This week Nita Davanzo and Justin Davanzo of Dogstar Theatre join Maggie and Anna to discuss “The Foreigner,” which Dogstar brings this week to Center Stage Theatre.
The Foreigner is both hilarious and frighteningly relevant. Winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play (1984) and Best Off- Broadway Production, based on what the NY Post describes as a “devilishly clever idea,” the play demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters must deal with a stranger who (they think) knows no English.
Maggie and Anna also discuss The Producing Unit’s recent production of Ayad Ahktar’s “Disgraced” (featuring last epidsode’s guest Ivy Vahanian) and PCPA’s recent production of August Wilson’s “Fences.” It’s been a great past month for Santa Barbara theatre!
This week’s show features new original music by MilesOsten. Check out Miles’ new EP “Freedom Isn’t Free” on Soundcloud.
